Slip Sliding into Liz’s

There was a lot of penguin walking as members found their way to Liz’s while trying to remain upright in the freezing rain and ice laden sidewalks and driveways  last Sunday.

Once inside the atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the great food provided by everyone was perfect for an icy day.  Many thanks to Liz for offering her space to a large group, all the volunteers who brought food, served and helped clean up…. and to everyone who braved the weather to come out!

  1. Lesley, just perfect image of us negotiating all that ice—– risking life and limb , to dine together. Intrepid we are.!

  2. Great venue at Liz’s Condo Party Room. Wonderful array of food to satisfy every appetite., Smaller crowd, due to the crappy weather, but thanks to all those that braved the freezing rain, ice and snow. Even though there were fewer people, I think we made just as much noise with people visiting one another. Great to see old friends familiar faces and newer people too. Welcome to the newer members! We said goodbye, and all travelled different routes. Hope everyone made it home safely. Dundas Road had been salted, but not very well in the spot where I glided right through a “red light”. Couple of bad accidents on one cross street with 3 Fire Trucks, Ambulances, and many Police Cars, and road blocked off going south to Dundas. Also on the ramp coming from Highway 403 to Dundas East with Fire Trucks and Police cars blocking ramp
Didn’t hear anything about the very bad “explosion” in Mississauga (Cooksville area) that happened around 7:30 AM Sunday morning until I watched the news at 11 PM. No one hurt, but some major damage to Plaza Stores and T.L. Kenndy High School closed today.
Thank you Liz for having us all. Thanks also to all the kitchen help firing up the hot dishes, and all those who helped clean up and folded the chairs and tables. Robert makes a great Custodian pushing the MOP!
Can’t wait or the next party at Liz’s. Seems none of us run out of things to say! Thanks a bunch!
